THE POETS

john compton is a gay poet who lives with his husband josh and their dogs and cats. his newest book is the castration of a minor god (Ghost City Press, 2022) and newest chapbook is how we liberated what secrets we modified (Etched Press, 2023).

 

James Allen Hall (he/they) is the author of two books of poems, most recently Romantic Comedy (Four Way Books, 2023), selected by Diane Seuss for the Levis Prize, and Now You're the Enemy (University of Arkansas, 2008). They have received awards from the National Endowment of the Arts, the Lambda Literary Foundation, the Texas Institute of Letters, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers. Their book of lyric essays, I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well, won the Cleveland State University Poetry Center Essay Collection Award and was published in 2017. With Aaron Smith, they are the co-host of Breaking Form: A Podcast of Poetry and Culture. They teach at Washington College, where they direct the Rose O'Neill Literary House. 

 

Daniel W. K. Lee (李華強) is a third-generation refugee, queer, Cantonese American born in Kuching, Malaysia. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing at The New School, and his debut collection of poetry, Anatomy of Want, was published by QueerMojo/Rebel Satori Press in 2019. When not ticking items off his bucket list, Daniel might be found working on his next two poetry manuscripts at his home in New Orleans with his head-turning whippet Camden. Randall Mann is the author of six collections of poetry, most recently Deal: New and Selected Poems, just published by Copper Canyon Press. He lives in San Francisco.

 

Cameron Martin is a queer poet and essayist who grew up in Michigan. Currently a second year MFA candidate in poetry at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, their work has appeared in Fence, Afternoon Visitor, Sonora Review, The Normal School, Court Green, and elsewhere. In Moscow, they're the incoming nonfiction editor of Fugue and one of the coordinators of Pop-Up Prose, a "queer minded, queer hearted, irreverent, itinerant, experimental reading series." 

 

Andrew McKernan is a writer in Chicago. He holds an MFA from the University of New Hampshire. His poetry and prose have appeared in The RumpusNinth Letter, Blunderbuss, CutBank, and other journals.

 

Kurt David is a current MFA candidate at The Ohio State University and former Macrorie Fellow at the Bread Loaf School of English. Before moving to Columbus, he taught at a public high school and agitated for social and climate justice as part of his teachers union. Also, he ran a queer book club called Reading Rainbow.

 

Jake Phillips is a graduate of the poetry MFA at UMass Boston and a current Providence-based UX Writer. His manuscript was recently named a finalist for the Miami Book Festival’s Emerging Writer Fellowship in Poetry. His work is published in CAROUSEL, Writers Resist, Poetry Online, trampset, and elsewhere.

 

Max Stone is a poet from Reno, Nevada. He is currently finishing up his MFA in poetry at the University of Nevada, Reno. He holds a BA in English with a minor in Book Arts and Publication also from UNR. He played soccer at Sierra College and Queens College.

 

Lucas Wildner lives in Seattle, WA, where he is repairing his relationships with English and German. His debut microchap Fluency was published by Ghost City Press in 2022. His chapbook [eyes emoji] was published by Hot Mess House in summer 2023. His work can also be found in Figure 1, Homology Lit, Pidgeonholes, and elsewhere.
